Weighting within module Task details and instructions Assessment strategy You are required to submit, via Turnitin, a 2000 word client focused study in which you should demonstrate critical appreciation of assessment and care planning processes. Assessment criteria You are required to write a client focused study based on a person you have cared for on placement. You should: 1. Provide a brief introduction to the client/service user and the context of care 2. Develop a critical discussion regarding assessment strategies or processes of nursing assessment based on what you have observed 3. Provide a critical appraisal of collaborative care planning and how interventions are negotiated between service user/patient and/or family/carer and staff following the assessment. This assignment will be marked using Level 7 grade descriptors. The pass mark is 50% and has a 100% weighting. It is essential that you maintain the individuals anonymity. This piece of work provides you with an opportunity to demonstrate a critical appreciation of such assessment processes and care planning. As it is challenging to write a critique of this nature in 2000 words, keep a clear focus on the assignment brief and do not digress away from the guidance. Your work will be marked using the Level 7 grade descriptor guidance and you must utilise the APA6th (Harvard) style of referencing. Your work must be submitted before 4pm on the submission date of 8/7/18 To meet the assessment criteria you need to: 1. Provide a brief but concise introduction to the client/service user and the context of care, that is: o a client/service user/family that you have met on placement on which the assignment will be based. o the care setting (one or two sentence will suffice) 2. Develop a critical discussion regarding assessment strategies or processes in nursing assessment. With reference to theory and evidence: o critically discuss processes of assessment that the service user experienced. This may include critique of the suitability of the assessment frameworks or models they use to inform the assessment, the therapeutic relationship and/or philosophies of care. The discussion must indicate how personal values communicated within the relationship during assessment are aligned to the NMC code. o You may choose to focus on a specific context for assessment, for example, an admission interview, or on the strategy/process more generally as you have observed it through time on placement (state your focus in the introductory parts of the assignment). 3. Provide a critical appraisal of the process of care planning and how interventions are decided.
