Help needed for final research paper!

I have an assignment that is due at least by 12/08/2014. It consists of 3 parts:

  1. Annotated Bibliography
  2. Research Paper Outline
  3. Final Research Paper

Annotated Bibliography Instructions

The Annotated Bibliography is designed to assist you with your Research Paper references, to teach you how to search for scholarly journal articles, and to practice using proper in-text citations.

You will select 3 full-text, scholarly (peer-reviewed) journal articles that directly relate to 1 or more of the items listed in the outline.

Foundations of Personality

Nature versus Nurture

The Unconscious

View of Self

Progression of Personality

Development

Motivation

Maturation

Choose articles that will be helpful to you in your Research Paper assignment as well as articles that have been published in the last 7 years.

Save each article as a PDF file. It is recommended that you read and review the Research Paper Outline Instructions at this point.

The Annotated Bibliography must be a 300–500 words per review of each of the 3 articles that you selected. This assignment does not need to include a title page, abstract page, or reference page; however, each reference must be listed before each summary in current APA format.

The review portion will give a general synopsis of each article that you reviewed. You must paraphrase; do not include any direct quotes. You must include in-text citations. If you do not include any in-text citations in this assignment, you will receive a zero. Proper use of in-text citations is imperative. You are encouraged to utilize the chapter on in-text citations in your APA manual. Do not cite other sources outside of the article that you are reviewing.

You will submit 4 documents total in your submission: the 3 PDF documents that you saved (1 for each article) and your Annotated Bibliography.

If you need assistance finding scholarly journal articles, click here to learn how to navigate through Liberty University’s online library.

A grading rubric is provided to ensure you follow the assignment expectations.

Submit your Annotated Bibliography by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on Monday of Module/Week 3.

Selecting Articles

When you are searching Liberty University’s online library, be sure to select “Full-Text” and “Peer-Reviewed.” To find useful articles, narrow your search by selecting portions of the theory, key words, or phrases to use as your search parameters. Using only the theorist’s name or theory will likely result in too many results to be effective.

Your articles must be from scholarly journals. It is preferred that the journals you select have the word “Journal” in the title (Journal of Marriage and Family, etc.). Ideally, each journal that you review should have a Methods section as well as Data, Results, and Conclusion sections, but these sections are not required. You must not use book reviews, obituaries, magazine articles, or online articles that have not been published in scholarly journals.

RESEARCH PAPER OUTLINE INSTRUCTIONS

This assignment will enable to you to begin work on the Research Paper. It will also allow your instructor to give feedback to make sure you are on the right track regarding your Research Paper. You are encouraged to view the Research Paper Instructions before beginning the Research Paper Outline assignment.

The Research Paper Outline must include a title page, abstract page, outline, and reference page. The outline itself must be 2–3 pages (not including the title page, abstract page, or reference page). You must follow the outline, listed on the next page, in current APA format.

As you work through the outline given, you must include at least 3–4 sentences that describe the position that you will take for each item listed as it relates to personality. You must support your opinion on how each of the items listed in the outline relate to personality and this must be supported with research. In-text citations are imperative. If you do not include any in-text citations in this assignment, you will receive a zero.

This is where you have the opportunity to find research to support your position on each of the items listed below. For example, you may believe that personality is based on nuture and that nature only plays a small part. In this case, you will want to find research that supports this stance. This is the information that you will include under the heading nature versus nurture.

It is important for this assignment to be in current APA format. Make sure to use proper headings. This assignment must be submitted as a Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) file. Assignments that are not submitted as a Microsoft Word file will not be accepted.

The reference page must include 6 scholarly references that were published within the last 7 years. After this assignment, you will have 6 of the 10 scholarly references needed for your paper.

Title Page

Make sure that the title page is in current APA format.

Abstract Page

An abstract must reflect the purpose and content of the paper. Report, rather than evaluate, what is in the paper and include the most important concepts. Be concise. The abstract must be 150–250 words.

Introduction (Paragraph)

The introduction must begin at the top of page 3 under the title. The word “Introduction” must not be included as a header. This is merely a prompt to encourage you to remember to complete an appropriate introductory paragraph.

          Introduce the problem.

          Develop any background material.

Explain your approach to solving the problem.

Thesis Statement

A thesis statement is part of the introduction and must summarize your entire paper from beginning to end in a short statement.

This will not be a heading listed. The thesis statement is usually located at the end of your introductory paragraph.

Foundations of Personality

          Nature versus Nurture

          The Unconscious

          View of Self

Progression of Personality

          Development

          Motivation

          Maturation

Biblical Integration

How do the items listed above connect with biblical principles?

(Note: This section may be omitted if biblical integration is clearly addressed in other portions of the paper. Either way, it needs to be clearly and significantly addressed.)

Conclusion

Make sure to include a concluding paragraph.

Reference Page

This is not a copy of your Annotated Bibliography, but it is an actual reference page in current APA format. There must be at least 6 scholarly references on the reference page.

FINAL RESEARCH PAPER INSTRUCTIONS

You will compose an 8–10-page Research Paper (not including your title, abstract, or reference page). This paper will discuss 6 major tenants of personality theory as well as a section on Biblical integration. You will follow the outline given in Module/Week 5 to structure your paper; it is important that you do not stray from the outline. You will want to back up your ideas on each tenant with research.

It is imperative that your Research Paper include scholarly research and not merely your opinion. Your paper will be a presentation of your views of each tenant as guided by theories in the text; however, you must write the paper using third person language instead of first person (I, my, we) or second person (you) language.

You will use at least 10 scholarly references for your paper (books and journal articles). At least 6 of these references must be scholarly journal articles. Do not use dictionaries, encyclopedias, websites, book reviews, or your textbook as references in your paper. You must use the Bible, but it does not count toward the 10 scholarly references.

Follow current APA formatting and the specific directions outlined in the APA manual. You must include in-text citations as well as a reference page within your paper. If you do not include any in-text citations in this assignment, you will receive a zero.

You do not need to submit the PDFs used as references for this assignment. Review the provided grading rubric for clarification of expectations.
